Dave Eggers, NÍnive Clements Calegari and Daniel Mouthrop on Teaching

Dave Eggers is the founder of 826 Valencia, a nonprofit organization providing free literacy and literacy arts services for young people. He is also the founder of McSweeney’s, an independent publishing house, and author of several books including his latest book What Is the What. He co-wrote Teachers Have It Easy: The Big Sacrifices and Small Salaries of America's Teachers with Nínive Clements Calegari and Daniel Moulthrop.

Nínive Clements Calegari, cofounder of 826 Valencia and CEO of 826 National, is a veteran public school teacher who has had ten years of classroom experience. Before teaching in her family's hometown in Mexico, Nínive worked at Leadership High School, San Francisco's first charter school, where she also served on the Board of Directors.

Daniel Moulthrop is the host of The Sound of Ideas, which airs on WCPN, 90.3 FM, Cleveland, Ohio's NPR affiliate. Before turning to journalism, he taught high school English and a variety of subjects at the San Francisco County Jail.
